LATEST: Lyrics handwritten by George Harrison for his Beatles hit WHILE MY GUITAR GENTLY WEEPS sold for $300,000 (GBP152,000) at an auction in Arizona yesterday (15JAN06).
The song, written and recorded in 1968, reveals the deep rift that had developed within the band at the time - and the lyrics come complete with corrections made by Harrison and a verse omitted from the completed track.
The reverse side of the sheet of paper features the lyrics to HEY JUDE handwritten by Beatles road manager MAL EVANS.
