Harrison Downloads To Pave Way For Beatles Digital Catalogue?
Nine of the star's solo albums have been made available for download - joining works by John Lennon, Sir Paul MCCartney and Ringo Starr in digital format.
Recordings by the Beatles are yet to appear on online music store iTunes, following a legal battle between label Apple Corps and Apple Inc, iTunes' owner - which was resolved in February.
But Harrison's widow Olivia has backed plans to allow the iconic band's work to be available as a download, calling the move "exciting" given her late husband's interest in digital music.
She says, "(George) had begun the digital mastering of his albums but had no idea how the digital world would change the way we access and listen to music".
Harrison died in 2001 after a battle with cancer.
