Happy Birthday, Stevie!

Soul legend STEVIE WONDER turns 60 on Thursday (13May10), marking a glittering career that spans five decades.
Blind from birth, Wonder overcame all the odds to become a multi-instrumentalist at an early age, and went from early Motown hits as "Little Stevie" to one of the most successful recording artists of all time.
Here, to mark the milestone, we present ten facts about the legend that is Stevie Wonder.
- Stevie's real name is Stevland Morris.
- He was left permanently blind after he was placed in an incubator at birth and given too much oxygen.
- Stevie was named a United Nations Messenger of Peace in 2009.
- He is the proud winner of 22 Grammy Awards - the most ever awarded to a male solo artist.
- Stevie showed his musical talents early on - by the age of eight, he had mastered the piano, harmonica, and drums.
- U.S. President Barack Obama has cited Stevie as an inspiration in his political career.
- Stevie was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989.
- In addition to his blindness, he also lost his sense of smell after he was involved in a car crash in 1973.
- He has seven children by three different women.
- His hit song I Just Called to Say I Love You is Motown's biggest ever selling single in the U.K.
