Bob Dylan - Happy Birthday Bob Dylan!

Love him or loathe him, birthday boy Bob Dylan is an icon for any age.
Born Robert Allen Zimmerman in Duluth, Minnesota in 1941, he is among the most revered songwriters of the past century.
He became Bob Dylan in 1959, and the world has never been the same.
Songs like Lay Lady Lay, Like a Rolling Stone, A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall and All Along The Watchtower have become folk-rock standards and many of today's biggest rock stars tip their caps to Dylan's influence and inspiration as one of the first protest, peace anthem singers.
As the great one turns 70, WENN decided to mark his birthday by listing 10 things you may not know about Bob Dylan. Happy birthday:

- Dylan has published three books of drawings and paintings
- he has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, and Songwriters Hall of Fame
- in 2008, a road called the Bob Dylan Pathway was opened in the singer's honour in his birthplace of Duluth, Minnesota

- he legally changed his name to Bob Dylan in 1962
- in 2004, Dylan's Like a Rolling Stone was named number one on Rolling Stone magazine's list of The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. The tune was recently named his Greatest Song in a new Rolling Stone poll.
- in 2004, he was awarded an honorary degree at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland
