Hangover 3 Confirmed For May 2013, But It's Definitely The Last

The Hangover is set to rumble on into a third film, the hugely successful drama - based around a group of goofy guys whose stag-do escapades land them in a whole heap of trouble the morning after - became a box office smash and made superstars of the likes of Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis.

However, a statement from the film's director claims that the third movie will definitely be the last, resisting the urge to continue milking the cash cow until the end. "We're going to surprise a lot of people with the final chapter we have planned," a statement from Phillips read at an announcement event read, "It will be a fitting conclusion to our three-part opera of mayhem, despair and bad decisions."

The third 'Hangover' film will hit theatres on May 24th 2013, reports The Hollywood Reporter, which is exactly the same Memorial Day weekend spot that saw its predecessor gross some $581.5 million worldwide, and all three protagonists are due to return. This might never have happened at all but for the surprise hit of the first film, released on a relatively low budget and grossing a whopping $467.5 million worldwide; so surprising was the success that the makers didn't have an option on the three stars and had to negotiate hefty deals with them to appear in the sequel and third films.
