Bono - Haines Blasts Bono And Hynde In New Memoir
Cult British rocker Luke Haines has taken aim at Bono in his biting new memoir, slamming the U2 frontman for snubbing him backstage.
The former Auteurs star was invited to play a show when David Bowie curated Britain's Meltdown festival in 2002 and recalls in his upcoming book Post Everything how he was offered the chance to meet Beautiful Day rocker Bono during the event.
But their brief meeting backstage took a bizarre turn when Bono refused to shake hands, "snorted" at Haines and then walked away without a word.
Haines blasts Bono as a "massive t**t" and a "moron" in the new tome, and brands U2's music a "steaming pile of dreck".
He also takes aim at The Pretenders frontwoman Chrissie Hynde, dismissing her as a "silly vegetarian" after she accused him of being a member of the Nazi party for eating sausages.
