Griffiths Tired Of Potter Fans
Harry Potter star Richard Griffiths hates being pestered by young fans of the teenage wizard, but he gets away with being mean to them because they expect cruelty from his character.
The HISTORY BOYS actor, who plays Potter's miserable UNCLE VERNON in the popular movies, takes great pleasure in using his character's grumpy persona in order to make a hasty exit.
Griffiths says, "I'm recognised when I'm pointed out, which is usually by parents.
"That gets tiresome, because they think you're going to be thrilled to talk to some 12-year-old.
"The nice thing about it is, Uncle Vernon is such a miserable and mean character, that they kind of expect me to be miserable and mean so if I get grumpy about it, the kids sort of nod and think, 'Yep, that's him.'"
