Punk trio Green Day are to make their first return to the Voodoo Music & Arts Experience in New Orleans since they re-opened the Louisiana Superdome after the Hurricane Katrina renovations in September, 2006.
The American Idiot hitmakers will join Neil Young & Crazy Horse as the headliners of this year's (12) event in the days before Halloween (31Oct12).
The preliminary line-up also includes Skrillex, Justice, Bootsy Collins and Gary Clark Jr. with a total of 150 acts to perform over the three days of the 14th annual Voodoo festival.
Event founder/producer Stephen Rehage tells WENN, "Green Day's set in 2004 is one of the greatest performances in the festival’s 13-year history. Having them choose to do their only U.S. show of 2012 at Voodoo is pretty extraordinary. And the confirmation of Neil Young & Crazy Horse is epic. They are one of a handful of artists that you hope to have the privilege to work with at some point in your career. It’s what you dream of when you create something like Voodoo."
