Whitney Houston - Grammys Begin With A Prayer For Whitney Houston
The 54th Grammy Awards have begun with a video tribute to Whitney Houston. She won six Grammy Awards throughout her impressive career and earned herself 26 nominations in total. The 'I Will Always Love You' star was shown collecting her awards in previous years and LL Cool J led the audience in prayer, in remembrance of Whitney Houston's stellar career.
Houston was seen in the videos, accepting her awards; always thanking the Lord first and foremost and her parents, for bringing her into the world. She was also careful to thank those that she worked with including Clive Davis, for whom she was full of praise, for the support that he had given her throughout her career. A notable year for Whitney Houston was 1994, the year that the phenomenal success of the Bodyguard soundtrack album was recognised at the Grammy Awards. The soundtrack won Album of the Year and her hit single 'I Will Always Love You' won Record of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Performance, Female.
Whitney Houston passed away on February 11, 2012. She was found dead in her hotel room in the Beverly Hills Hilton hotel. The cause of her death is currently unknown. An autopsy report has been performed, though a Reuters report suggests that it may take up to 4-6 weeks to obtain the toxicology reports. Although the autopsy has been completed, police have confirmed that they will not be making and public announcements regarding the details of her death until Monday morning.
