Gq Men Of The Year Awards: Bradley Wiggins Parties With Robbie Williams And Co

Cashing in on the feel good nature of the Olympics, GQ Magazine handed cyclist Bradley Wiggins their Lifetime Achievement Award at their annual awards bash in London last night. A star-studded party, which also saw fellow Olympian Mo Farah hand Robbie Williams an Icon award as well as many other Olympic athletes or people involved with its staging, saw the reigning Tour de France and Olympic time trial winner handed the award after a year that's seen him become a truly household name beyond just the cycling fraternity.

The Great Britain Olympic team was arguably the best these shores had ever seen, with only the 1908 team gaining more medals at a games, then at a time when the competition was considered somewhat less fierce. However it is Wiggins out of all the medal winners who seems to have captivated the public, his humble down-to-earth nature, not to mention those now iconic sideburns, making him a firm favourite. Wiggins is now also the joint holder of the most Olympic medals won by a Briton, a record he shares with fellow cyclist Sir Chris Hoy.

Hoy was in attendance too, as were other athletes like Victoria Pendleton and Louis Smith, the gymnast, turned up. Also there was Danny Boyle, who devised the Olympic opening ceremony.
