Gotye - Gotye Leads Aria Nominations

Singer/songwriter Gotye looks set to dominate the Australian Record Industry Association (Aria) Awards after landing five top nominations.

The Somebody That I Used to Know hitmaker has scored nods at Australia's most prestigious music prize-giving in categories including Best Male Artist, Best Australian Live Act and and Best Pop Release for his album Making Mirrors.

The record will also compete in the Album of the Year category, going up against The Temper Trap's self-titled release, Falling & Flying by rapper 360, Missy Higgins' The Ol' Razzle Dazzle and Prisoner by The Jezabels.

The Temper Trap and The Jezabels will also face off in the battle for the Best Group trophy, while the Best International Artist prize will be fought out by artists including Adele, Coldplay, Bruno Mars, One Direction and Michael Buble.

Other high-profile nominees include Keith Urban in the Best Male Artist category, Delta Goodrem (Aria Song of the Year) and former Savage Garden star Darren Hayes (Best Adult Contemporary Album), as well as Guy Sebastian and Cold Chisel, who have also landed nods.

The prizes will be handed out at a ceremony in Sydney on 29 November (12).
