Goldie Hawn Quits The Viagra Diaries
The Viagra Diaries is the new show from the Sex and the City creator Darren Star and is based on the book of the same name by Barbara Rose Brooker. Paul Feig, who recently found success with Bridesmaids is also directing. The story focuses on a woman left by her husband when he suffers a mid-life crisis. She's facing the world alone for the first time in 35 years and Hawn was set to play the lead role. However, she is said to have had "a bumpy last few months" with the Hbo network and has now decided to give it a miss altogether. Rumors suggest that Hawn was "being difficult in her dealings with the rest of the people involved in the project and in the casting process." It is unclear currently who will be replacing her.
So far, the only other cast member to have been announced is Wendi MCLendon-Covey; also from Bridesmaids. A number of men auditioned for the role of the husbands, alongside Goldie Hawn. The role is yet to be filled. Goldie Hawn is not the first big-name actor to have abandoned a TV show in progress recently. Ryan Phillipe dropped out of CBS' Golden Boy and Paul Bettany also jumped ship from Masters of Sex.| Comment on this article |
