Glen Campbell - Glen Campbell Confused About Alzheimer's Diagnosis In Rolling Stone Interview

The star's memory loss problems were diagnosed earlier this year (11), but his family tell the publication's Patrick Doyle they feared the onset of the terrible condition when Campbell was arrested and jailed for a hit-and-run accident in 2003.

And, in a new Rolling Stone interview with the singer at his home, it's clear that he's not the man he used to be.

At times coherent when discussing his career, Campbell appears confused when his Alzheimer's Disease is raised, forgetting he was diagnosed by a doctor.

He tells Doyle, "I don't feel any different at all. I haven't been to the doctors where they said, 'You got Alzheimer's. I don't even know where that came from. I haven't been to a doctor in years."

His daughter Ashley reminds him that he is "in the early stages" of the memory-robbing disease, adding, "Sometimes you'll have trouble remembering stuff."

Her comment prompts Campbell to joke, "I was trying to forget all that garbage years ago."

Reminded that his doctor diagnosed Alzheimer's, a pensive Campbell says, "Well, I guess I'll wait till it hits me, then."

His daughter also explains that her father tends to obsess on the air conditioning and towels in the family's California home, adding, "That's one thing with Alzheimer's - they get fixated on one thing."
