Glee -Fully, Fox Takes Over First Place
Ratings for last week's World Series may have fallen to near-record levels for Fox, but, combined with solid numbers for the hit new series Glee , with its "Rocky Horror Show" episode, the long-running The OT , and a Halloween-themed episode of Raising Hope, Fox dominated among total adults and adults 18-49. Each of the other major networks also had something to boast about. CBS's NCIS was the top-rated scripted television show of the week, drawing more than 20 million viewers, the first scripted series of the season to top the 20-million mark. Its viewer average was up 12 percent over the same week a year ago. ABC's Dancing with the Stars took over first place on the ratings charts, despite facing competition from the World Series. But NBC's Sunday Night Football, which had to engage in a tug of war with the Series for male viewers, slipped from the top of the ratings chart, where it had staked out a permanent spot for itself all season long, to third place. (The final game of the Series also took its toll on ESPN's Monday Night Football this week as its audience dropped 31 percent from the previous week.)
