Glasvegas To Headline Edinburgh Hogmanay Party

Scottish indie rockers Glasvegas have been added to the bill for Edinburgh's Hogmanay street party on New Year's Eve.

The Glaswegian band, whose self-titled debut album was only kept off the top of the UK charts by Metallica's Death Magnetic, join Paolo Nutini on the roster of acts playing the Hogmanay party.

Frontman James Allan and co will take to the Waverley Stage in the Waverley Bridge part of the street party arena, with Nutini performing at the Concert in the Gardens on December 31st.

"Glasvegas are a fantastic addition to an incredible night of live music across the city centre stages, which will once again see Edinburgh crowned as the premier destination to bring in the New Year," said Councillor Steve Cardownie, festivals and events champion at the City of Edinburgh Council.

"As the main act on the Waverley Stage, Glasvegas will have the East End of Princes Street rocking."

And the band themselves added: "We're looking forward to closing an amazing roller coaster of a year when we headline the Waverley Stage at Edinburgh's Hogmanay. The perfect way to toast the coming year with family and friends celebrating Scottish style!"

The announcement comes as Glasvegas unveiled the tracklisting for their forthcoming Christmas album, A Snowflake Fell (And It Felt Like A Kiss).

The six-track album was recorded in Transylvania earlier this month and includes the Concentus Choir singing Silent Night (in English & Romanian) at St Nicholas Church in Brasov.

A Snowflake Fell (And It Felt Like A Kiss) is available as part of a deluxe 2CD version of Glasvegas' debut album on December 1st through Columbia Records.

The tracklisting, order not yet confirmed, is:

Please Come Back Home
Cruel Moon
Careful What You Wish For
F**k You, It's Over
A Snowflake Fell (And It Felt Like A Kiss)
Silent Night /Noapte de vis
