The British girlband saw their new LP Out of Control seize the top position ahead of Razorlight's latest offering, Slipway Fires, which entered the countdown at number four.
Pink's Funhouse slipped from number one into second position ahead of Enrique Iglesias' Greatest Hits compilation at number three.
The top five is rounded out by Snow Patrol's A Hundred Million Suns.

Kimberley Walsh hopes for Nadine baby bond 4125680 News

Kimberley Walsh hopes to bond with Nadine Coyle over babies.

The former Girls Aloud singer, who is expecting her first child with boyfriend Justin Scott, admits she and band mate Nadine have 'drifted' apart, but hopes to see her in the future after she gave birth to a baby girl on February 10 with fiancé Jason Bell.

Kimberley told Britain's OK! magazine: ''The reason the relationship with Nadine's never been as strong over the last five years is because she moved so we didn't do as much social stuff together, so you kind of drift apart. But one thing in life that brings people together is babies so I'm sure we'll have a lot to talk about when we do see each other next, we'll have a lot more in common.''

The 32-year-old star, who has been dating Justin, 31, for ten years, is still close to former band mates Cheryl Cole and Nicola Roberts and still speaks to Sarah Harding.

Kimberley said: ''Cheryl's already offered to babysit! She's told me that she's going to get a Moses basket at hers so that she can have the baby for the night if I'm struggling. It's a brilliant idea, I love the plan, but I told her that I don't know whether she'll be saying that once the baby's here! It's really sweet and she definitely means it.''

The brunette beauty admit she was less than impressed when Sarah revealed in an interview she thinks Kimberley will be a bossy mum.

Asked what she thought about her comment, she replied: ''The cheek of it! It's probably because I boss her around, but she needs it, that's the problem!

''I kept things moving along in the band, so she probably does see me a bit like that but that's completely different. I'm a total walkover with my nephews.''

Cheryl Cole Wins Big Payout after X-Factor Nightmare 3975047 News

Pop star Cheryl Cole has won a considerable pay-out from the producers of The X-Factor USA, who sacked her after filming just one episode in 2011.At the time, Simon Cowell refused to confirm the reasons behind Cole's departure, though speculation suggested she was removed over fears the American audience would not understand her Newcastle accent.

She sued producers Blue Orbit for $2.3 million for loss of earnings though the company settled out-of-court with an undisclosed sum. During the lawsuit, it also transpired that Cole had already signed on for a second season on a salary of $2 million.

In her case, Cole said she had been paid for the first series but the rest of her salary was not forthcoming. She was also not paid expenses including a $100,000 wardrobe allowance, an allowance for her stylist, $15,000 per month for a hotel of apartment in Los Angeles and a $2,500 monthly living allowance. Her legal case asked for all the money, plus interest, legal fees and "further relief as the court may deem just and appropriate."

Cole was replaced by Nicole Scherzinger after attending X-Factor auditions in just two US cities.

Cole has been notably out of the limelight since the debacle, though reunited with Girls Aloud for a brief anniversary tour in March. According to the BBC, she recently returned to the studio to start work on her fourth album, due for release in 2014.

Reports also suggest she will return to the British version of the X-Factor, perhaps with Simon Cowell, with whom she remains friends despite the U.S experience.

Speaking to the Metro last week, Cowell was asked about returning to the British show, saying, "I will at some point.I still miss that, I mean that show is my baby and that last year we did which was the One Direction year was the most fun I've had - it was fantastic."

Of Cole, he said: "Cheryl and I patched up our differences a long time ago"

"I saw her recently, we speak a lot on the phone and text each other, and I think both of us would like the idea of working together again."

With Gary Barlow leaving the show after the current season, and the future of Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger yet to be confirmed, a reunion could happen in 2014.

Nadine Coyle held Girls Aloud 'to ransom' 3868380 News

Kimberley Walsh has admitted to a rift with former Girls Aloud bandmate Nadine Coyle.

The 31-year-old singer - who was part of the chart-topping girl band with Nadine, Cheryl Cole, Sarah Harding and Nicola Roberts - confirmed rumours of a divide between the Irish beauty and the rest of the group during the height of their fame in 2009, claiming Nadine changed after moving to Los Angeles and hiring a separate manager.

In her new autobiography 'A Whole Lot of History', she wrote: ''Originally Nadine and I had been very close but by early 2007 we had drifted apart. I still had the same friends but she was hanging out with a whole new crowd and it just wasn't the same. There was a definite change in her, which became more evident each time she came back from Los Angeles.

''For a long time, the rest of us had felt that she was holding us to ransom, and with the constant whispers of Nadine's imminent solo deal, we felt as if she was calling the shots, and that the band's future was in her hands. ... It was hard for us to accept her need to separate herself from the rest of us, because at that time none of us had considered a solo career, and she never once talked to us about it.''

Kimberley said tensions resurfaced during the group's recent 'Ten' farewell tour and she was shocked when Nadine, 28, claimed she had no part in the group's split earlier this year when the tour finished.

She said: ''Nicola, Cheryl, Sarah and I tore ourselves apart about how we were going to announce to the fans that Girls Aloud was finally over. Nadine point blank refused to agree to any kind of press release - but we had to let the fans know somehow.

''You can imagine our surprise when Nadine went public, saying she had no part in our decision to split, and she wanted the group to keep going. It was quite a hard piece of news to swallow because she never said any such thing to the rest of us, and splitting up was what we'd always planned.''

"She's As Tough As Nails" Says Artist: Has Cheryl Cole Defaced Herself With Bum Rose Tattoo? 3836726 News

Cheryl Cole's new bum tattoo has provoked much derision towards her choice to get a heavy image of red roses tattooed over her cheeks and lower back. Critics have called the singer out as "crazy" after the image of her new ink surfaced on the tattoo artist's Instagram profile.

Cheryl's New Tattoo Has Sparked Horror Amongst Fans & Critics.

Artist Nikko Hurtado, known for his photorealistic work on his client's skin, posted a pic of the lower half of his latest subject's body with the caption: "Here is a in progress shot of a Tattoo I've been covering up and reworking. Really exited to show healed shots. It was some intense tattooing sessions. She's tough as nails. [sic]"

Though Hurtado didn't name the former Girls Aloud member, a front page article run by The Sun newspaper linked the tattoo to its owner and Twitter responded with shock at Cheryl's decision to commission such hardcore ink. After a reported 15 hours on the tattoist's table to cover up a previous, less colourful butterfly piece, the former X Factor judge reacted without any regret towards her new tat, tweeting "People are entitled to their own opinion. Personally I've never really concerned myself with other people's body parts!"

Danny Dyer To Play Contract Killer in 'Brilliantly Slick' 'Assassin' 3747510 News

Danny Dyer has teamed up with noted action movie producers Jonathan Sothcott and J.K Amalou for the hitman thriller Assassin. Sothcott - a ridiculously prolific producer of action flicks - recently worked with Dyer on Vendetta, though there appears to be a heightened buzz surrounding their latest effort.

Described as a "glossy action film", the movie will see Dyer play a professional contract killer who compromises himself when he realizes that his latest victim is the estranged father of the girl he has fallen in love with, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

"JK [Amalou] has written a brilliantly slick script and I cannot wait to start work with him, he's a force of nature of a filmmaker," producer Sothcott said. "I look forward to continuing building the new Danny Dyer brand with Assassin and Vendetta." Shooting on the movie is scheduled to begin in August with the filmmakers aiming to have a promo ready for the American Film Market in the fall.

Sothcott's company has thrived on strong home entertainment sales and has Top Dog, directed by Martin Kemp, lined up for its 2013/2014 slate. The vigilante sequel Vendetta 2: Annihilation is a "large scale" action movie to be directed by Stephen Reynolds.

Dyer - an actor who still commands big numbers thanks to his cult following - recently signed up for a role on Hollyoaks: Later. His latest movie - Run For Your Wife (2013) - still holds a score of 0% on the review aggregating website Rotten Tomatoes. Starring Denise Van Outen, Neil Morrissey and Girls Aloud actress Sarah Harding, the movie was ripped apart by critics to the point that it was almost incomprehensible that any living breathing human being would part with their cash to fund it. Peter Bradshaw of the Guardian wrote in his review, "The trouser-dropping 80s stage farce finally hits the big screen with Danny Dyer, to kill off any remaining British self-respect."

Dyer's previous efforts, 7lives, Catwalk, Age of Heroes, Freerunner, Basement, Pimp, Dead Man Running, Malice in Wonderful and Outlaw courted little acclaim, though it's worth pointing out that the British star has spoken publically of his disinterest in reviews. It's perhaps to Dyer's credit that he's offered so many roles - his movies sell extremely well on DVD and his shtick works well with the laddish action movie market.

He has made good movies. Severance was pretty fun. The Business, The Football Factory, Mean Machine and Human Traffic were all entertaining - Assassin could be his best yet.

The Danny Dyer-sneering was fun for a while, though when an actor is so settled into his comfort zone to the point where he literally couldn't give a damn what you think of his movie - then he becomes an easy target. The 48-year-old - who was personally asked by Harold Pinter to be in three of his plays -  told the Independent during an interview in April, "I'm not Danny Day-Lewis. I'm Danny Dyer. Daniel Day-Lewis takes a year out between parts to research. F*ck it - I haven't got time. I've got kids to worry about."

Danny DyerDanny Dyer At The London Evening Standard British Film Awards

Cheryl Cole has just turned thirty and never being one to leave a good cause for celebration begging, the Girls Aloud singer saw in the big day with her bandmates and new beau, Tom Holloway, in the ultimate party destination of Las Vegas, Nevada. It has been thirty years of ups and downs for the Tyneside-native, coming from a working-class background in the north of England to earning millions and becoming one of the biggest names in showbiz, so happy birthday Cheryl, have a drink on us!

It has been a journey-some thirty years for Cheryl

With her latest squeeze on her arm and her best friends with her, Cheryl was determined to enjoy a birthday to remember, even if Simon Cowell wasn't there. She reportedly spent a six-figure fortune on flying her nearest and dearest out to the States, footed the bill for the Vegas bash and accommodation and even paid for a stay at a top-class mansion in Malibu for some post Vegas relaxation. If that wasn't enough the ex-X Factor judge is then heading back home for one more get together in the UK with some of the people that didn't make it out to the USA.

Happy Birthday Chezza!

Born in Newcastle upon Tyne on June 30, 1983, Cheryl went from rags to appearing on Pop Stars the Rivals in 2002, where she met her Girls Aloud bandmates and changed her life forever. As the band achieved success in the charts the singer had her first misstep of her time in the public eye when she assaulted Sophie Amogbokpa, a toilet attendant in a night club, with Cole eventually being charged for ABH and racially motivated assault. Many people forget that as she continued to top the charts with the group and when she began seeing Chelsea footballer Ashley Cole in September 2004, with the pair getting engaged in 2005 and marrying a year later (they divorced in 2010 amidst tales of Ashley's infidelity).

Her career continued to rise and despite a bout with malaria, her sacking from the X Factor USA and the break-up of Girls Aloud as well as her divorce, Cheryl stayed strong throughout, becoming the nation's sweetheart when she has a judge on the X Factor and remaining a dominating figure over the entertainment industry. It's been an eventful 30 years for Cheryl and here's to plenty more.

Time For A Chauffeur? Sarah Harding Disqualified From Driving For Mobile Phone Offence 3608741 News

Sarah Harding has been banned from driving and fined £500 for using her mobile phone at the wheel, MTV have reported. The Girls Aloud star appeared at Highbury Corner Magistrates Court today (April 16, 2013) to answer the charges and it didn’t turn out well for the star who was unable to wriggle out of the punishment that greeted her.

Harding already had nine points for speeding on her license, as she headed to court, suggesting that she perhaps isn’t the most diligent of drivers. She landed a £500 fine for being caught on her mobile whilst driving and was also ordered to pay a £20 victim support surcharge as well as an extra £85 in prosecution costs. Harding’s lawyer Nick Freeman did his best to defend the pop singer but there was simply no convincing the judge. Freeman attempted to argue the case that she was only using her mobile phone because she was lost on the way to a business meeting when the police spotted her. We’re not sure which legal school Freeman went to but using a phone while driving ‘because you are lost’ doesn’t actually stop it being ‘very much against the law.’

Judge Nina Tempia wasn’t about to fall for Freeman’s sob story, it seems and said to Sarah “He is asking the court to deal with you as opposed to a normal person. Well, you are a normal person. I can see no reason why you shouldn't be disqualified." And boom! She disqualified her.

Tears After Ten Years: Girl Aloud Split After Final Show In Liverpool (Pictures) 3567980 News

Girls Aloud have officially called time on their stunning career in pop music after playing a final show in Liverpool on Wednesday evening (March 20, 2013). The show at the Echo Arena capped a 12-date sold-out farewell tour in the UK, following ten hugely successful years together for the girl group. "We have now come to the end of our incredible time together," read a tweet on the band's official account.

Girls Aloud formed after appearing on reality TV show Popstars: The Rivals in 2002, going straight to No.1 with their debut single 'Sound of the Underground,' and easily seeing off the competition from hapless rival band One True Voice. The group, made up of Cheryl Cole, Nadine Coyle, Nicola Roberts, Kimberley Walsh, Sarah Harding and Nicola Roberts, achieved a string of 22 consecutive hit singles, including four No.1's. Cole - the most successful of the group - tweeted after the Liverpool gig, "I love you @GirlsAloud fans so so so so so much! You have given me everything!" adding, "To the people that haven't been able to make it, for whatever reason, we feel your support regardless and have done for 10 yrs."

The five members took a break in 2009 to concentrate on various other projects, with Cole judging on the X-Factor, fronting numerous beauty campaigns and enjoying success with her own solo albums. Kimberley Walsh found plaudits on the stage, while Sarah Harding  appeared in a handful of movies though suffered from depression and alcohol addiction. Liverpool-born Roberts flirted with a solo career and a couple of beauty projects, though Nadine Coyle - arguably the most naturally talented singer of the bunch - struggled to forge her own career in the music business.

A statement on behalf of the band said, "Dear Alouders, we just want to say from the bottom of our hearts Thank you!! This tour has been an amazing experience and the perfect chance to say thank you for being on this journey with us through a decade. It has far exceeded any of our dreams and we hope we are forever your inspiration and reminder that dreams really do glitter!! Your love and support will stay with us forever but we have now come to the end of our incredible time together. Love you lots."

Girls Aloud played a greatest hits set in Liverpool, wowing the sold-out crowd with intricate sets, choreography and pyrotechnics. Harding openly wept on-stage as the group called time on their career.

Girls Aloud Split After Last Night of Tour, Tweet Confirms 3567414 News

Any fans looking towards a new Girls Aloud album and a few more years of girl band action will be disappointed, as the band cut their reunion short straight after their U.K tour.

A Twitter message from the band read: "We have now come to the end of our incredible time together" as soon as they came off stage in Liverpool – the last date of the tour. Another Twitter message said: "Dear Alouders, we just want to say from the bottom of our hearts Thank you!! This tour has been an amazing experience and the perfect chance to say thank you for being on this journey with us through a decade.” The band, who were formed on Popstars: The Rivals got back together for 12-date UK tour after three years of solo projects, or for some members of the band, silence. “It has far exceeded any of our dreams and we hope we are forever your inspiration and reminder that dreams really do glitter!! Your love and support will stay with us forever but we have now come to the end of our incredible time together. Love you lots," they added.

Easily the most successful member of the band, Cheryl Cole, tweeted from her own account to convey her feelings on the split. "To the people that haven't been able to make it, for whatever reason, we feel your support regardless and have done for 10 yrs." Cole will no doubt go on to pursue her hugely successful solo musical and television career, but as for the other Girls Aloud girls, the future is uncertain.
