Girls Aloud Perform For The Queen

Girls Aloud took to the stage in front of Queen Elizabeth at the Royal Variety Performance last night (19.11.12).

The 'Something New' singers - Cheryl Cole, Kimberley Walsh, Nadine Coyle, Nicola Roberts and Sarah Harding - treated the 86-year-old monarch to a rendition of their new single as she watched from the royal box at London's Royal Albert Hall with her husband the Duke of Edinburgh.

The girl band later got to meet the Queen in person and shake her hand, but 29-year-old beauty Cheryl clearly appeared to be the most enamoured with her.

She posted on Twitter: '''The Queen is so delicate. She has hair like candy floss and tiny little dancing style shoes .. Awww #theroyalvariety2012. (sic)''

Nadine added: ''I met the Queen of England tonight & the Duke. The royal Albert hall was jumping with faces. A celeb spotters dream! Xxx hahaah great day! (sic)''

Girls Aloud were joined on stage by chart-topping acts like One Direction, operatic singer Katherine Jenkins, soul star Alicia Keys and pop princess Kylie Minogue.

'Britain's Got Talent' winners Ashley and Pudsey also got a chance to perform their dancing dog act for the Queen, as did old favourites Diversity and Stavros Flatley.

The show will be broadcast on ITV1 on December 3.
