Girls Aloud Make A Noise At Top Of The Charts
Sexy girl band GIRLS ALOUD have blasted pop rival ROBBIE WILLIAMS off the top of the UK album chart. The British five-piece's greatest hits offering stormed to number one, knocking Williams' RUDEBOX to second place after just one week at the top. Their solo effort SOMETHING KINDA OOOOH holds third place in the singles chart, falling below club anthem FEDDE LE GRAND's PUT YOUR HANDS UP FOR DETROIT and BODYROX at numbers one and two respectively. BEYONCE and rockers MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE round out the top five. A collaboration between Irish stars U2 and GREEN DAY - a cover of 1970s punk group THE SKIDS' THE SAINTS ARE COMING - is the highest new entry at number six. The track has been released to raise funds for U2 guitarist THE EDGE's charity Music Rising, which replaces instruments lost in last year's (05) Hurricane Katrina.
