Girl Aloud Deny Talks Over Their Eurovision Entry

Earlier this week is was rumoured that the newly reformed Girls Aloud would be 'doing a Blue' and representing the United Kingdom in this years Eurovision Song Contest. However, a rep for the girl group has now come forward to deny these rumours via Twitter.

Yesterday (Jan 18), the band's PR company Supersonic took to their Twitter page to refute the claims that the girls would be heading to Malmo, Sweden for this year's contest saying that "The story isn't true," before adding that the claims are "So ridiculous."

Girls Aloud reunited in time for their 10th anniversary last November, having spent the three years prior to their reunion concentrating on solo projects both in and outside of music. They ushered in their reunion with a collection of their greatest hits, but wont be following up their successful return with an appearance on the continent at this year's Eurovision, begging the question: who will be performing for team GB this year?

Frankly, we haven't got a clue, but given the recent run of form that the UK has had at the competition it might not matter who we send anyway. Meanwhile, anyone wanting to to see the girls live shouldn't have to wait too long as they will be embarking on a reunion tour next month, kicking things off at Newcastle's Metro Radio Arena (21st February).
