Gillespie Wanted Drugs Factory

Bobby Gillespie fell so in love with the drug ecstasy in the early 1990s he pleaded with his record company to fund a factory to make it.
The Primal Scream frontman was inspired to create the group's classic 1991 SCREAMADELICA album by the loved-up narcotic, and wanted to share the experience with all his fans - free of charge.
But Creation Records boss ALAN McGEE was less than impressed by Gillespie's plan.
Gillespie recalls, "We started taking loads of ecstasy. I remember asking Alan MCGee to finance an ecstasy factory.
"The idea was we'd give out the tablets for free. Alan didn't go for it."
