Giles Deacon's Feminine Florals
Giles Deacon marked his return to London Fashion Week yesterday (20.09.10) by showcasing a feminine, floral collection.
The British designer - who until this year has debuted his pieces at Paris Fashion Week - juxtaposed curve-enhancing floral dresses with outlandish sci-fi stage make-up on his all-star cast of models.
As well as iconic British models Agyness Dean and Amber Le Bon, Deacon shunned the size zero trend by sending curvier stars Kelly Brook and a pregnant Abbey Clancy down the runway.
However, Amber Le Bon didn't only lend her talents to one designer yesterday, as she also modelled for Canadian designer Mark Fast - who trained at London's prestigious Central Saint Martins college - who gave his signature knitted dresses a colourful twist.
Elsewhere, Christopher Kane channelled the spring/summer 2011 trend of bright colours in his collection, with his "aristocrat gone bad" theme pushing fashion boundaries with neon vinyl, orange and fuchsia lace and graphic prints.
He said: "There's been so much white and minimalism, I just reacted against that. I don't want that. I don't see that as being modern. To me, I think it's old and used."

RIP Ray Manzarek
