Gibson's Arresting Officer 'Has No Case'

Officials from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department are asking a judge to dismiss a lawsuit lodged by the traffic cop who arrested MEL GIBSON for drink driving in 2006.
Sheriff's Deputy James Mee filed legal papers earlier this year (10) claiming he was "unjustly denied" a promotion following the Gibson scandal and became the victim of "religious discrimination".
Gibson famously made anti-Semitic comments directed at the Jewish officer during his arrest in Malibu, California.
In his suit, Mee claimed footage from a videotape of Gibson's arrest was erased and he was instructed to rewrite his report, deleting the religious slurs allegedly made by the movie star, who was a friend of then-Sheriff Lee Baca.
But now heads at the sheriff's department are fighting back, insisting Mee's claims that he was discriminated against because of his religion are unsupportable, reports
In documents obtained by the website, officials from the County of L.A. state that "simply receiving a directive to proceed in one manner with respect to a police report cannot in and of itself be considered discriminatory."
Mee is suing the County of Los Angeles for discrimination and retaliation.
