SIDEWAYS star Paul Giamatti was stunned when he was asked to play a cameo role in Japan's remake of the hit wine movie.

The actor says, "They asked me to be in it, actually... I don't know what I was going to play.
"I said no. I felt my career hasn't hit that low yet. I thought, 'What am I gonna play - the sushi chef or something?'"
Giamatti is far from impressed with the actor who will play his character, Miles, in the Japanese version of Sideways: "They got a strange, little troll to play me."
This political drama is a scandalous thriller starring Patrick Wilson and Lena Headey. It has been directed by Mora Stephens.
