Actor Gerard Butler has proved he's serious about his romance with Madalina Ghenea after introducing the Romanian model to his family over the Christmas (12) holidays.

The 300 hunk began dating the beauty last May (12), when she was hired to help him promote a new razor for the Dubai-based Super Max brand, and he took her home to his native Scotland in December (12) to meet his mother, Margaret.

The two women in Butler's life hit it off and they have messaging back and forth ever since.

A source tells the National Enquirer, "They have been keeping in touch with e-mails and texts since the first of the year."

Butler was previously romantically linked to Jennifer Aniston and Cameron Diaz, and he also had a much-publicised party fling with U.S. reality Tv star Brandi Glanville.
