Scottish movie star Gerard Butler has opened up about his relationship with Romanian model/actress Madalina Ghenea, insisting he is "happier and calmer" since they started dating.

The 300 hunk fell for the European beauty when she was hired to help him promote a new razor for the Dubai-based Super Max brand last year (12), and the couple was first rumoured to be romantically involved in May (12).

Ghenea played down the claims at the time, stating, "Gerard is a friend of mine. We are friends and nothing more" - but Butler has now openly gushed about the beauty.

He tells Britain's Sunday Express he is romancing "Maddie", adding, "It's going good. I'm happier and calmer than I've been for a long time. These days I'm more zen and that's an easier way to exist."
