George Michael Jailed For Eight Weeks

Singer GEORGE MICHAEL has been sent to prison for eight weeks for crashing his car whilst under the influence of cannabis, reports BBC News. The 47-year-old, famed for his time in band WHAM as well as for an extremely successful solo career, crashed his Range Rover into a shop back in July 2010. The incident happened in Hampstead, North London, and Michael pleaded guilty to the charge last month. He was initially handed a six-month interim driving ban, but has today been jailed.
The pop-star, who has appeared in court several times in recent years for numerous offences, arrived at Highbury Corner Magistrates Court where he was greeted by a swathe of reporters and photographers. The incident in question involved Michael crashing into the 'Snappy Snaps' shop in London, where he shattered the premises wooden panels, and cracked the front window, reports Sky News.
As a solo artist, Michael has sold over 100 million records worldwide, which includes 7 UK #1 singles, and 7 UK #1 albums, as well as 8 US #1 singles, and 1 US #1 album. His last studio album was 2004's 'Patience', but he has since performed on the '25 Live Tour', which spanned from 2006 to 2008 across a number of countries.

Hooray! At last, this dopehead gets his just desserts. Talented though he is, he's not above the law. If he can't adapt to the contemporary music scene, I think he should retire from show business.
