George Michael Expected To Be Out Of Hospital Soon
The singer's latest incident has brought his personal wellbeing into question.
George Michael diced with death earlier this week when the former Wham! star fell out of the passenger seat of a moving vehicle whilst on the M1 motorway way in St Albans, near London. The singer was airlifted to hospital where he was deemed to have only suffered minor injuries during the incident a week ago today (May 16), but was kept overnight and is believed to have remained their for some time after.
It hasn't been made clear whether he has left hospital yet. Fellow drivers on the road at the time have since discussed the shocking moment, mentioning how close the singer ,real name Georgios Panayiotou, came to being struck by anotehr car. The whole incident has thrown George's personal wellbeing into check, with many wondering what could have happened in the seconds before he fell/ejected himself from the car. Yesterday, his publicist revealed gave an update on his condition, saying, “He is making good progress and is looking forward to getting out.”
The singer may still be in hospital
Michael was in the car with two other people at the time, both of whom are reported to have gotten out of the car and checked on the singer having immediately pulled over to the hard shoulder after the incident. An onlooker, motorist Katherine Fox, explained how she very nearly ran into Michael after his fall, but managed to turn her car into the road to ward off any other motorists and to protect the singer. “I saw blood everywhere and a man on the ground," she said. “George didn’t say anything, he just seemed in shock in the arms of his friend. The guy holding him was quite scared. He kept saying to George, ‘Are you all right mate?’ I think George was lucky he didn’t die.”
Michael looked to be getting his life back in check following a near-fatal bout of pneumonia in later 2011, culminating in a performance at the closing ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics. However this latest incident could potentially be a cry out for help from the troubled star. After all, how easy is it to fall out of a moving Range Rover? Not very.
