A spokesman for Lucasfilm has responded to recent rumours that George Lucas is set to make a number of new Star Wars films. On Saturday 23rd October 2010, the official STAR WARS forums began to experience technical problems as a rumour had begun to circulate that Lucas was planning on directing a trilogy of new films, once he had completed work on converting the current movies to 3D.
However, JOSH KUSHINS of Lucasfilm told Wired.com, "George Lucas has plenty of projects to keep him busy right now - including plenty of Star Wars projects - but there are no new Star Wars feature films planned". However, despite Kushins cooling the rumours, Twitter and a number of online STAR WARS communities have been alive with fans frantically speculating as to what the future 'projects' could be, and many are still holding out hope that new feature films will eventually be made.
It was reported last month that Lucas is set to release all of the sci-fi movies in 3D, with 'Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace' expected to be released in 2012, with the other films to follow.
