Gavin Degraw - Gavin Degraw Injuries 'Not Life Threatening' Say Police

Gavin Degraw, the American singer-songwriter who was the victim of an attack in New York City on Monday (8th August 2011) is currently being treated in hospital, but his injuries are not deemed to be life threatening, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
A New York City Police Department spokesperson says DeGraw was set upon in the city's East Village, adding, "We have an assault report for an individual, a male, white 34, who was attacked by what he claims was three individuals at about 3 a.m. Monday morning on the corner of First Avenue and East 6th Street". The singer, who suffered facial injuries from the assault, was later struck by a cab after walking away from the scene. The Nypd confirm he suffered cuts and a broken nose but was quickly admitted to Bellevue Hospital where he remains in a stable condition. The police department have now opened an investigation into the matter after all the suspects fled the scene. DeGraw's representative told Tmz.com, "Gavin DeGraw was assaulted ... and was taken to the emergency room at Bellevue Hospital by ambulance. He is currently under observation. We have no additional information at this time".
The singer has been forced to cancel Tuesday's performance supporting Train and Maroon 5. He will be replaced by Nikki Jean, although there is no word on whether he will re-join the tour for Friday's show at New York's Jones Beach on Long Island.
