Actor Gavin Creel has made an appeal for the return of his iPad after foolishly handing the gadget to a fan while signing an autograph on Tuesday (03Apr12).
The Broadway star agreed to scribble on a theatre programme for a follower and leaned on his tablet computer to make his mark - before accidentally handing over the iPad to the man.
He's now taken to his Twitter.com page to ask the fan to get in touch and return the expensive gadget.
In a series of posts, Creel writes, "2 (to) that sweet man who asked 4 (for) my autograph: remember how i used my iPad as a hard surface under your program while i signed? u still have it and i would really like it back...please don't make me very sad."
He later added: "ok. still wanna hear from that man i accidentally gave my freakin' iPad to last night. would be real nice if he would give it back...."
And Creel's pal Alan Cumming also helped publicise the appeal, writing on his own page, "I'm mad as hell. Let's shame the guy who took gavincreel's iPad as he was giving him an autograph to return it. Twitter Power, people!"
Many ticket-holders couldn't get into the O2 Arena show on Tuesday night (September 19th) because they didn't bring photo ID to match their booking.
An album re-release, a new song and a documentary mark the singer's legacy this year.
The film will be the first in the Marvel Cinematic Universe led by a person of colour.
The actor plays the titular hero in the forthcoming adaptation.
