Gary Barlow - Gary Barlow's Odd Queen Meetings

Gary Barlow admits meeting Britain's Queen Elizabeth is ''really odd''.

The Take That singer has met the monarch on several occasions, and finds it more ''relaxing'' than many would assume, and he thinks when he unveiled his Diamond Jubilee song 'Sing' for her recently she thought it was a ''bit of fun''.

He said: ''It was a really odd situation. I don't know if anyone has met the queen before, I've only met her a couple of times. It's very relaxing, she obviously meets people all day every day.

''She was quite excited [about the song]. If you think of her day and what it involves, I think it was a little bit of fun for 15 minutes to be honest. I think it was a little bit of a break for her to be honest more than anything else. Luckily it turned out alright!''

Gary met a number of people throughout his global tour of the Commonwealth to create the track - as part of documentary 'On Her Majesty's Service' - and has even invited some to the UK for the special concert he is putting on to celebrate Queen Elizabeth's 60th year on the throne.

He added: ''We came back and obviously I'm putting all the concert together and my first words were, 'Guys, we've got to fly some of these people over'. So the Slum Drummers and the Children's African Choir are coming over for the concert. They've never been on a plane before, they're going to meet the queen, meet Sir Paul McCartney, Sir Elton John, it's going to be incredible.''
