Gary Barlow Beats Andre To 'Celebrity Dad Of The Year'
The British singer - who had recent success with his Jubilee song - said winning the award felt "amazing", adding, "I've been waiting for it for a long time. My kids are really excited and I don't think they can quite believe it. Being a dad is a really important part of my life and it means a lot to have won this award". Mainly, Barlow was simply happy that he'd beaten friend Peter Andre to the award, telling Twitter followers, "Ladies, gentlemen, lads, lassies and Peter Andre, I'm proud to tell you all that I've won 'Celebrity Dad of the year 2012". As well as last year's winner Andre, Barlow beat some heavyweight names to this year's title, including Prime Minister David Cameron, footballer Cristiano Ronaldo and the rapper Jay Z. Mr Cameron's chances were probably damaged by reports this week that he left his daughter in a country pub my mistake.
Barlow returns as the head judge for the forthcoming series of The X Factor UK, though it's still unclear who will join as the permanent fourth judge. Tulisa Contostavlos and Louis Walsh are back on the panel, though producers have filled the final vacancy with a rolling special guest for the early auditions.
