Garth Brooks Files Lawsuit Against Oklahoma Hospital
Country music star Garth Brooks has filed a lawsuit against an Oklahoma hospital for misappropriating a $500,000 (£312,500) donation he made.
The Grammy Award winner delivered the massive cheque to the Integris Canadian Valley Regional Hospital in Yukon back in 2005 under the condition that the money be used to finance a new building, named after his late mother Colleen.
According to Brooks, hospital officials showed the star architectural plans for the building and promised to save the funds for the project - however, such an addition was never completed.
Hospital bosses have since denied any wrongdoing, insisting the donation was "anonymous and unconditional".
Brooks will take the matter to court in Rogers County on Tuesday (17Jan12).
