Game Of Thrones Returns: Will Sean Bean Reclaim His Head?
Game Of Thrones will begin its second series in the US tomorrow (1 Apr 2012). The previous series of 'Game Of Thrones' saw the character of Ned Stark, played by Sean Bean, lose his head in the cliff-hanger finale.
The series is based on fantasy book series 'A song of Ice and Fire' by George R.R. Martin. Ned faced a similar fate in the novel, shocking viewers and readers alike considering that he was a lead character. Ned was a family man and the king's hand, whilst viewers got to know about his wife, played by MICHELLE FAIRLEY and their kids. It has now been suggested that eldest son Robb, played by RICHARD MADDEN, will be seeking justice for his father's death. Rumours have been circulating on the net on whether Sean Bean will make a surprise re-appearance in the second series or not.
In other news, Sean Bean has revealed that he jumped on the chance of playing transvestite Tracie in award-winning television series 'Accused' earlier this year. His role will be broadcasted later this year, and talking to the Independent, he talked about how he got used to the heels: 'I got pretty good at it, walking on cobblestones and all sorts. I had a full body wax, the high heels, short skirts, bras - everything - it was proper full-on. I became totally absorbed: it was wonderful being involved in it. I just didn't want to leave it, the character. I became very close to Tracie. It's a brilliant script: very moving, very dark humour.'
The second series of 'Game of Thrones' begins tomorrow night on HBO.
