Liam Gallagher - Gallagher: 'Oasis Is Dead'

LIAM GALLAGHER has finally spoken out about his brother NOEL's departure from OASIS - insisting "without a doubt" the band is finished.

Guitarist Noel Gallagher stunned fans when he walked away from the Britpop pioneers as they prepared to go onstage at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris, France in August (09).

The band was subsequently forced to scrap the rest of its European tour dates, and the brothers have since kept their distance, with Liam holidaying in Italy with his wife and kids, and Noel returning to London.

Although Noel made it clear he is not interested in reuniting, rumours persisted that Liam planned to continue with a replacement - but he has now confirmed the band is over for good.

In an interview with Britain's The Times newspaper, he says: "Well, Oasis is no longer. I think we all know that. So that's done. It's a shame, but that's life. We had a good run at it."

However, the singer insists he is glad the split happened due to differences within the band, rather than the group being dumped because of a lack of interest.

He adds, "The thing about Oasis is no-one... we ended Oasis. No-one ended it for us. Which was pretty, kind of... cool. I'm thinking of what the next step is musically, which is all my mind's on."

And Gallagher, who has launched his own fashion line, has reached out to his estranged brother - insisting he is convinced his sibling will carry on selling records.

He says, "People will be able to buy his records. People will be able to buy our records. So everyone's happy."
