Imprisoned rapper G. Dep has given his memoir a unique twist - he's written it in rhyme.
The former protege of hip-hop mogul Sean 'Diddy' Combs is currently serving 15 years-to-life for the fatal 1993 shooting of John Henkel during a botched robbery in East Harlem, New York.
The Special Delivery star began putting pen to paper while awaiting trial at Rikers Island jail, and he has since completed more than 300 pages of his autobiography - but it's like no other memoir and has been penned in rhyme form.
And G. Dep, who is now housed at Elmira Correctional Facility, admits the words flowed more easily than ever before because he's no longer high on drugs or struggling with a guilty conscience over the shooting.
He tells New York Magazine, "(My struggle to write) wasn't something I was going through periodically; it was something that was like a knot at all times. Sometimes I didn't even want to walk with my head up I just wanted to look down (in shame). If I stood up, I felt funny, like, 'Who am I to be looking up?'"
