Rapper Future Was Forced To Cancel A Free Show In Los Angeles On Thursday Night (23jul15) After Hundreds Of Fans Flooded The Street Outside The Roxy Venue And Caused Chaos On Sunset Boulevard.
The hip-hop star was slated to play the last of four free gigs on his Salute the Fans tour at the Hollywood theatre, but trouble started at 11am local time when fans lined up for the concert, which was scheduled to begin at midnight.
According to local news station KTLA, nearly 700 people hoping to get in to the 500 capacity venue crowded the entrance to The Roxy, subsequently spilling onto one of Los Angeles' busiest streets.
The chaos prompted officials from the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department to temporarily close part of the thoroughfare for two hours.
Just before 4pm, The Roxy management issued an update via Twitter, which read: "Future will no longer be performing at The Roxy tonight", and directed fans to Future's Twitter account for more updates.
The rapper has yet to comment on the axed gig.
