Fry Replaces Attenborough On Theatre Trust
The Criterion Theatre Trust was created in 1992 when a new property developer bought the 19th Century West End venue in a bid to refurbish it.
Oscar-winning actor Attenborough helmed the organisation but has now stepped down from the trust and made way for Fry, who admits he is "insanely excited and honoured to take up this new position."
He says, "I couldn't be more proud and pleased to take over the chair vacated by the inimitable Lord Attenborough. Between them, he and (developer) Sally Greene have ensured that one of the absolute jewels of the West End is in a marvellous position to grow and flourish into the 21st Century."
