Police in Philadelphia have confirmed that one person has died, and another is injured, following a drive-by shooting which occurred outside the tour bus of rapper French Montana. A crowd had gathered around French Montana’s tour bus, Huffington Post reports, when a passing driver reportedly opened fire into the crowd. Chief Inspector Scott Small revealed that a 27 year-old man was hit with a bullet in the abdomen and was later pronounced dead. Another man was also hit in the shoulder but is understood not to have died. The names of the two victims are yet to be released. The Chief Inspector said that one man may have returned fire, though it is unclear whether that man was part of the rapper’s entourage. Police have stated that they do not believe that French Montana or any of his entourage were targeted. Nether victim was thought to have ben a member of the rapper’s group of associates.
The 28 year-old hip-hop star is the founder and CEO of Cocaine City Records. Last year, he signed a join venture deal between Maybach Music Group and Bad Boy Records. He’s a frequent collaborator with Rick Ross, amongst others.
