Freida Pinto - Freida Pinto Learnt From James Franco's Style
Freida Pinto, the Indian actress who plays scientist Caroline Aranha in 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes', claims she learnt from co-star James Franco and his unconventional style of acting, reports Total Film Magazine.
The pair star in Rupert Wyatt's reboot of the original 'Planet of the Apes' series, set in modern day San Francisco. Franco's performance on set, which follows his unusual hosting of the OscaRs, briefly took Pinto by surprise. The actress admits it took a while for her to adapt to the enigmatic actor's methods, saying, "He's got his own unique and distinctive style of acting. It's not conventional at all. It does take you by surprise initially, but it's all about being flexible and trying to understand how another actor works". However, Freida claims to have ultimately learnt from the young Californian, adding, "I found a lot of things in his acting style that I could pick up and learn from". The movie, which also stars 'Lord of the Rings' star Andy Serkis, hits cinemas in the U.S. on Friday (5th August 2011).
Pinto, best known for her role in OscaR-winning 'Slumdog Millionaire', will next appear opposite Mickey Rourke in fantasy-drama 'Immortals'. Loosely based on the Greek myth of Theseus and the Minotaur, the film will hit screens in 3-D on 11th November 2011.
