Freeman: 'I Felt Like A Prostitute'
Hollywood Legend MORGAN FREEMAN turned to alcohol in the early days of his career - because his uninspiring job left him feeling "like a prostitute".
The Academy-Award winner began drinking heavily while working on 1970s children's educational sketch show The Electric Company - which he hated.
After one particularly abusive drinking session, the 70-year-old decided to give up booze after waking up in a doorway, unable to remember how he got there.
He says, "I felt like a prostitute. I was working not because I enjoyed the work, but because I needed the money.
"(After the drinking episode) I recognised that it (drinking) had become a problem, so I just quit. I do have self-control. Once I realise that I've got to change something I just do it."
