Freddie Mercury To Make Tupac Style Return To The Stage
Zanzibar-born Freddie, who fronted the band, died at 45 in 1991 from Aids related complications after suffering from the disease for several years.Queen guitarist and astrophysicist, Brian May, 64, said that holographic technology wouldn't be used to create the illusion of Freddie taking to the stage one last time, unlike its recent use for late rapper Tupac Shakur when he was perceived to be performing with Snoop Dogg and Dr Dre at the Coachella music musical.
"It's a little unfortunate they did that thing with Tupac as we've been trying to make Freddie appear on the stage for quite a while", May told the Bbc. "I think probably for a show that runs eight shows a week it's not really quite practical". Robert De Niro, referred to by May as "our friend Bob from Los Angeles", is reportedly going to be attending the event as one of the show's producers which will take place at London's Dominion Theatre.
