Franklin Plans Kids Cookery Camp
Soul queen Aretha Franklin is dreaming up a new ranch project where struggling inner-city kids can learn all about cooking.
The singer, who is collating her favourite recipes for a new cookbook venture, wants to pass on her cooking skills to kids all across America - at a planned Camp Aretha project.
She says, "What I wanna do is have something called Camp Aretha or Camp Ree-Ree for inner-city children of a certain grade point average to come out and take classes in different things.
"Classes in cooking, classes in engineering, classes in how to do a lot of things."
