Francis Hits Back At Spelling's Criticism
Francis was recently (begs14May07) moved from his Florida jail cell - where he was serving time for contempt of court - to Nevada to face charges of evading $20 million (GBP10 million) in taxes between 2002 and 2003.
In an open letter to Francis which was posted on TMZ.com, Spelling blasted the jailed 34-year-old for crying about his sentence, calling upon him to act with dignity instead of portraying himself as a victim of the U.S. legal system.
But Francis has now responded to Spelling with his own open letter - dictated to spokesman Ronn D. Torossian from a prison phone - in which he accuses her of commenting on a case she "knows nothing" about.
He writes on TMZ.com, "After reading your letter posted on the internet, my mental picture of you is of a lonely old woman living in a mansion in Holmby Hills with let's say 300 cats jumping around, some in their own feces (sic).
"Candy, you don't know any of the facts concerning my situation. I am a hardworking, compassionate and honest person. This whole situation will be over soon and I will be standing strong. I have never played a victim but I have always been a fighter.
"I will ultimately prevail in the matters at hand but I am concerned that you will die a lonely and unfulfilled person playing with those cats and posting open letters to people you have never met on the internet."
Francis is currently awaiting trial for the tax evasion charges. He is expected to return to Florida after the case is finished to face a further misdemeanour charge for sexual battery, relating to an incident in January (07).
