Fox News The Most-watched Channel In October

02 November 2012
For the first time since 2005 when its audience was lifted by Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath, Fox News Channel became the No. 1 basic cable network in primetime among total viewers in October, averaging 3.36 million viewers. Its highest-rated show continued to be The O'Reilly Factor, which averaged 3.92 million viewers, followed by Hannity with 3.17 million. FNC's highest-rated daytime show was Fox & Friends with an average 1.43 million viewers during October. ESPN, which usually holds the No. 1 spot in October thanks to Monday Night Football, slid to second place, proving that football is no match for the rough-and-tumble of the final month of a presidential election. Perhaps in recognition of that fact, ESPN has scheduled interviews with President Obama and Gov. Romney during halftime on Monday, the day before the presidential election. TBS placed third for the month; USA fourth; and History fifth.
