Fox News's Ailes Blasts Doj's Probe Of Fox Reporter

Fox News chief Roger Ailes on Thursday vowed to challenge the government's investigation of James Rosen and other Fox News employees who are being investigated as co-conspirators in releasing classified information. In a message to Fox News staff, Ailes said, I know how concerned you are because so many of you have asked me: why should the government make me afraid to use a work phone or email account to gather news or even call a friend or family member? Well, they shouldn't have done it. The administration's attempt to intimidate Fox News and its employees will not succeed and their excuses will stand neither the test of law, the test of decency, nor the test of time. We will not allow a climate of press intimidation, unseen since the McCarthy era, to frighten any of us away from the truth. Comedy Central's Jon Stewart also lambasted the administration for its decision to go after journalists who attempt to draw the curtains on its activities. The Obama administration, he observed has prosecuted more whistleblowers than any other in history, he noted. They believe in freedom of the press, jut not freedom of speech for people who might talk to the press.
