William Forsythe - Forsythe Wants To Terrify Teens With Gacy Portrayal
Actor WILLIAM FORSYTHE hopes teens see his new movie portrayal of serial killer JOHN WAYNE GACY - because it might make them think twice before befriending strangers.
Gacy, dubbed The Killer Clown, raped and murdered 33 teenage boys between 1972 and 1978.
Forsythe admits playing such a sick character in the film Dear Mr. Gacy was a real challenge, and he wants teenage boys to see the movie and steer clear of strangers.
He says, "I want teenagers to see this movie because it's a story about being careful. Today in pop culture all these kids want to dabble in evil and be like these evil guys and put up the horns. I want kids to realise that there's real evil out there.
"There's a naivete that's going on about evil that is so troubling in the world right now and that's the reason I did the movie.
"I've had young people come up to me and go, 'Dude, wow you played Gacy; he's one of my heroes.' I get so mad and look at them and say, 'You gotta be kidding me. How would you like to have all 300 of his pounds sitting on you choking you out with your own underwear while he's raping you and torturing you and murdering you slowly?'
"This guy is no hero. This was a disturbed monster."
