Screenwriter Fay Kanin has passed away at the age of 95.
Kanin died of natural causes at her home in Santa Monica, California on Wednesday (27Mar13).
She was part of one of Hollywood's most powerful writing teams with her husband, Michael Kanin, penning several screenplays, including 1958's Teacher's Pet, which earned the pair an Oscar nomination.
Other screenplays included The Opposite Sex and The Right Approach. Kanin went on to write Tv scripts in the 1970s, and won two Emmys for Tell Me Where It Hurts and Friendly Fire.
In 1979, Kanin became the second female president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and was at the helm of the board for four terms. Bette Davis was the first female president, but her tenure only lasted a month in 1941.
The 1969 session, including the only known recording of 'Sunshine Woman' by the band, will be included on a re-issue of 'The Complete BBC Sessions'...
