Fools Gold Hits The Jackpot At U.s. Box Office
The second outing for the pair - following 2003's How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days - has shocked studio bosses at Warner Brothers, who have admitted the takings exceeded their estimates by $4 million (GBP2 million).
New at number two is Martin Lawrence comedy Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins with $17.1 million (GBP8.55 million).
The Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert dropped to number three, taking $10.5 million (GBP5.25 million) - with a huge $53.4 million (GBP26.7 million) earnings so far.
Jessica Alba's horror film The Eye slipped two places to number four in its second week, taking $6.6 million (GBP3.3 million).
Oscar-hopeful Juno tied with Katherine Heigl's 27 Dresses, both taking $5.7 million (GBP2.85 million) each.
