Florence Welch Parties Hard After Nme Awards

Florence Welch celebrated her double win at the NME Awards by partying with Kasabian and Kate Moss last night (29.02.12).

The Florence + the Machine singer was presented with the prizes for Best Solo Artist and Best Track for 'Shake It Out' at the ceremony, which was held at London's O2 Academy Brixton.

After watching Godlike Genius Award winner Noel Gallagher close the show with a live performance, Florence - who was wearing a floral suit - rushed across the UK capital to attend a special one-off Wyld Wednesdays event at the Wyld Bar at the W London Leicester Square hotel.

Shortly after arriving at the exclusive party - which was hosted by Fran Cutler - the 'What the Water Gave Me' hitmaker was seen dancing to Rolling Stones track 'Brown Sugar' as she draped decorative lights around her body.

Kasabian guitarist Serge Pizzorno - who along with his bandmates was honoured with the Best British Band accolade - was also seen gyrating on the dancefloor as was TV presenter Alex Chung.

The bash was attended by rock 'n' royalty and a host of stars, including supermodel Kate and her husband Jamie Hince, Miles Kane, Caroline Flack, Pixie Geldof, Hurts singer Theo Hutchcraft and Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson.

Guests sipped on a cocktail specially created for the night, the Wyld Raspberry Rock which was made of Ketel One Vodka, Raspberry liquer, sugar and lime.

Florence was thrilled with her two awards earlier in the evening, although she was worried she might be stripped of her Best Solo Artist award because she is technically not a solo act.

She said: ''It's amazing. I've wanted to win an NME Award for so long ... I'm really incredibly grateful. It is slightly strange because I've never been quite sure myself about whether I'm a solo act or a band.

''I've always thought of it as a project that I've started.''
